Thunderstorms with rain

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms with rain across all eight divisions of the country, including Dhaka. It also indicated the possibility of heavy rainfall in parts of three divisions. The information was provided in a forecast issued on Sunday (18 May) by meteorologist Md Hafizur Rahman.
According to the Met Office, over the next 24 hours, some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, along with one or two places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, may experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning, rain or thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy, and in some places very heavy, rainfall may occur in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Daytime temperatures across the country may fall slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. The mild heatwave affecting Khulna division, including Bandarban district, may ease.
From 9:00 am on Monday (19 May) for the following 24 hours, similar weather conditions are expected. Some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions may again experience gusty winds, lightning, rain or thunderstorms, with moderate to heavy rainfall possible in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Daytime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures may rise slightly.
From 9:00 am on Tuesday (20 May) for the next 24 hours, some areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, may experience thunderstorms with gusty winds and rainfall. Temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
From 6:00 am on Wednesday (21 May) for the following 24 hours, some areas of Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions, along with isolated places in other divisions, may experience similar weather conditions. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly.
From 9:00 am on Thursday (22 May) for the next 24 hours, one or two places across all divisions may see temporary gusty winds, lightning, rain or thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department added that no significant change in the overall weather situation is expected over the next five days.
